Water Scarcity at Large Events
At events like religious gatherings, attendees often struggle to find clean drinking water. Long lines, limited access, and heavy reliance on single-use plastic bottles make the situation challenging. This lack of clean water availability not only leads to health risks but also adds to plastic waste.
Plastic Waste Crisis
Plastic bottles are everywhere, especially at large gatherings. Each year, billions of plastic bottles are produced, with only a fraction recycled. The rest ends up polluting our landfills and oceans, taking hundreds of years to decompose. This plastic waste is a severe threat to our environment, harming wildlife and filling our ecosystems with microplastics.
Health & Environmental Risks
Plastic bottles leach harmful chemicals, and broken-down microplastics have infiltrated our food and water supplies. These pollutants endanger marine life and pose risks to human health as well. Meanwhile, devotees are often left without safe drinking water, affecting their wellbeing during events.
Our Solution (WATICA)
WATICA Water Pouches
Sustainable Materials
Our pouches are crafted from materials that decompose within months. By using compostable packaging, we eliminate the need for single-use plastic and prevent plastic waste from harming our ecosystems.
Implementation at Events
We work with organizers to set up hydration stations at key points in large gatherings. Devotees can access clean water in compostable pouches, which are conveniently disposed of in designated composting areas. WATICA combines accessibility with sustainability.
Future Plans
Our aim is to introduce WATICA at Maha Kumbh Mela 2025, one of the world’s largest religious gatherings. By then, we hope to set a benchmark in eco-friendly event management and inspire other gatherings to adopt similar sustainable practices.”
